HILTON GARDEN INN LAUNCHES CENTENNIAL CHARITY “JUST WHAT YOU NEED”
FunDRAISER
April 10 Luncheon Slated to Introduce the “Animal Crackers Club” Supporting the Rocky Springs Carousel Association (April 6, 2001) Lancaster, PA - The Hilton Garden Inn Lancaster (managed by Horst Property Management), has accepted a challenge from its parent company to raise at least $1,000 that will benefit its local community. The Hilton Garden Inn Lancaster is among many Hilton Garden Inn hotels across the US, Canada and Mexico participating in the “Hilton Garden Inn Centennial Charity ‘FUN’draiser” to celebrate the brand’s upcoming 100th hotel opening. Parent company Hilton Hotels Corporations ultimate goal is for its Hilton Garden Inns to raise a collective $100,000, a percentage of which it will match and announce at the Centennial Celebration in Orland, Florida, this May. A Great Cause: Hilton Garden Inn Lancaster’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Cheryl C. Deaven, was eager to select the Downtown Lancaster Carousel project (coordinated by the Rocky Springs Carousel Association) for the Centennial Celebration because of its obvious complement with travel and tourism. Founded by local civic leaders, the Rocky Springs Carousel Association is dedicated to purchasing the Rocky Springs Carousel and returning it to Lancaster. The Association must raise $1.5 million by May 2001. FUNdraising Launch: On April 10, the Hilton Garden Inn Lancaster will host a special, luncheon for community-minded guests to introduce Rocky Springs Carousel Association’s “Animal Crackers Club.” This unique club enables members to name carousel animals for a loved one, special grandchildren or themselves, a nostalgic legacy for generations to treasure. “Adoptions of the “animals” are available through membership in the Animal Crackers Club for a gift of $4,000 to $10,000. Carousel animals will be on display for guests to enjoy. Hilton Garden Inn Lancaster: Considered a first-class business and tourist destination, the Hilton Garden Inn Lancaster (notably the first-ever Hilton Garden Inn and the first recipient of the Hilton Pride Innovation Award) offers 156 recently refurbished guest rooms replete with stylish new furniture, microwaves and refrigerators, oversized work desks with ergonomically designed chairs and two double-line telephones with data port, speakerphone and voice-mail features for business guests to use. In 2000, the Hilton also added a business center and the 24-hour Pavilion pantry for guests’ convenience. In 2001, the hotel restaurant, Clyde’s Café, was renovated for providing outstanding dining experiences for guests and the community.
