(June 19, 2000) Hershey, PA Hershey SpringHill Suites by Marriott will be opened by Horst Property Management (HPM) on June 22. This is the fourth area hotel to be developed and managed by HPM’s vice president of hospitality John Sanderson. Steven Horst, vice president of development for HPM, provided the development services to support the launch of this latest hotel. Michael Klein, formerly of the Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Lancaster, has been appointed general manager of the new SpringHill Suites.

Klein anticipates a smooth opening weekend and is pleased to recognize the first guests with a very special welcome. He said, "We are very excited for the opening of the hotel. The opening represents all of the hard work, determination and dedication of the entire Horst Group."

The three-story, 80-room SpringHill Suites is Marriott's newest moderately-priced, all-suite hotel which is designed for guests who want spacious (rooms that are 25% larger than standard guestrooms) and functional accommodations when on the road for even a few nights at a time. With separate areas for eating, sleeping, working and relaxing, each suite features a pantry area with a mini refrigerator, microwave, sink and coffee maker, a well-lit work area with an ergonomic chair, a pull-out sofa and a comfy lounge chair with an ottoman. To further enhance guests’ stays, the hotel offers a complimentary breakfast buffet, free local phone calls, indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, exercise room, meeting rooms, business library, sundry shop and much more.

The hotel was designed by Horst Group affiliate, Cornerstone Design-Architects, sitework performed by Horst Excavating, masonry foundation laid by Horst Masonry, built by Horst Construction and exterior and interior finishes provided by Horst Painting—truly a cooperative effort by Horst companies.
