A COMBINED EFFORT, HORST GROUP COMPANIES BUILDING A SECOND MARRIOTT HOTEL—SPRINGHILL SUITES

(December 6, 1999) Lancaster, PA Development of SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Hershey, PA, by Horst Property Management (formerly Clabell Management) has reached the construction stage. The hotel was designed by Horst Group affiliate, Cornerstone Design-Architect’s Steve Wise. Horst Excavating (formerly Bilran Excavating) has completed over 50% of the site work and Horst Masonry (formerly Modern Masonry) led by Ike Stauffer has laid the hotel’s foundation. Horst Construction’s Project Manager Tom Byers reports that the team is currently installing the floor trusses and wall panels for the three-story, 80-room hotel, and preparations for the indoor pool have been completed. Horst Painting (formerly Ash Painting) led by Randall Miller will provide the painting and wall covering.

Special features of the hotel—geared for business guests—include rooms that are 25% larger than standard guestrooms, a pantry area with a refrigerator, microwave oven, coffeemaker and sink. In addition, all suites will have a large desk with an ergonomic chair, voicemail and a sofa bed. Whirlpool suites will be available, as well as an exercise room, meeting rooms, an indoor pool and spa, and a complimentary continental breakfast.

Horst Property Management’s vice president of development Steven Horst expressed enthusiasm about the smooth progress of construction, attributing it to the first class work of sister company, Horst Construction. Anticipating a summer 2000 grand opening, the management company has been receiving advanced registrations and inquiries about the hotel.
